Quick Puff Pastry

Duration: 4 Hours  Chef: Chef Nate

Class Description

New for 2024! Boom! You loved the croissants class, here comes another technique-driven class with lamination as a focal point. True puff pastry takes a lot longer than we would be able to accommodate in class so showing you the blitz or quick version will still satisfy that flaky pastry urge within you. In class, Chef Nate will take students through the step-by-step process of mixing dough and butter together and rolling and folding to gain layers and confidence. Students will also make a couple of sweet and a couple of savory recipes to show just a few more things you can do with puff pastry. Do you want to learn other fillings for puff pastry? Take Blandine’s Puff Pastry Class! At the end of class, students will take home a couple of meals, a couple of desserts, and raw laminated puff pastry to create their own flaky delectables.

*Please Note: Recipes may be altered based on the availability of products.

What to expect in my classes:

  • Working on a number of related recipes from a broader topic to give you the tools to impress your friends at your next dinner party, family gathering, or work celebration.
  • Fun and informative lessons with a dash of science.
  • Approachable recipes that can be easily replicated at home.
  • Quality, tasty desserts that you will take home but won’t want to share.
  • A joke or two from the “Part-Time Comedian”!
  • A passion for food that extends beyond the classroom into everyday life. You can find inspiration in the most random of places and you must always open yourself up to experiences that broaden your understanding of food.

  • Can you adapt the class recipes to my allergies?

Yes & No! Class recipes are split amongst the whole group; therefore, we cannot alter the recipes. However, there are occasions where we can accommodate a recipe. If you have questions and/or concerns about this policy, please call or email us before signing up for a class. You can also filter classes by allergens when choosing your next class. Our kitchens process foods containing wheat, nuts, dairy, shellfish, and meat. Because we use the same tools across all classes, we can't guarantee a completely sterile environment.

  • Will I get to take any food home?

Yes! All your culinary creations are meant to be taken home after trying some in class. There is always plenty of food to take home and share for a few days. Note that in our Fix & Feast Classes, there will be less or no food to take home as you eat a 5-course dinner in these classes.

  • Do you offer kids classes?

No. Participants must be at least 17 years old to attend regular cooking classes. However, teens ages 13-16 are able to attend a regular class with an adult. Some classes also accept children 8-16 with an adult. Both child/teen and adult must pay for a spot to attend a class where children/teenagers are allowed.

  • What is a Fix & Feast class?

Fix & Feast classes are a great alternative to dining out and a great night-out experience to share with your loved ones, friends, or co-workers. They are also great to meet someone who shares the same passion for food. In the “Fix & Feast” series, there is less preparation and less food to take home, but much more time at the table to enjoy your meal with others! Fix and Feasts focus not only on the cooking of the meal but the presentation of the food.

Wine will be served to enhance the experience and in European tradition, a specially curated cheese selection will be served as a fourth course in between the entrée and dessert.
